PM calls on calmness and common sense on Öcalan verdict
Turkey’s Prime Minister has called on the public or groups not to try and make use of Thursday’s ruling by the ECHR that the 1999 trial of terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan was unfair.

May 12—  Like other government officials, Erdoğan said that the decision of the European Court of Human Rights did not target the outcome of his initial trial but supposed failings in procedure.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that Turkey was a state of law and that no one either within the country or abroad should doubt that
“Even if this file is re-opened legally, it is completed in the minds of the people,” he said. Erdoğan stressed that the final decision lay in the justice system of Turkey.
“If the world wants to re-look at a file of a terrorist, we shall respond to by saying justice is independent in Turkey,” he said.
The ECHR ruling said that Öcalan, the imprisoned leader of the terrorist group the PKK did not get a fair hearing in his trial six years ago and was denied full justice.
